in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international
professional association with world headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
The IIA has more than 100,000 members in internal auditing, risk
management, governance, internal control, IT audit, education, and
security. With representation from more than 140 countries, The Institute
is the recognized authority, principal educator, and acknowledged leader in
certification, research, and technological guidance for the profession
worldwide.
The Denver Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors awarded the
2005 Beverly M. Cavanaugh Scholarships to Chih-Hau (Mary) Chang and Darcy
Renee Binder. Beverly's commitment to high standards and community service
is exemplified by Mary and Darcy.
Mary is working towards her B.S. in Accounting at Denver University. She
has a 3.92 grade point average. Mary has been on the Dean's List for seven
of seven quarters. She is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, a student member of
IMA, the Historian of Alpha Kappa Psi, and Co-Communications Chair of
Nelson Leadership Team. Mary has also volunteered for the Volunteer Income
Tax Assistance Program, Denver Rescue Mission, The Bridge Project, 9-Health
Fair, Accounting Tutoring, and Children's Halloween Party.
Darcy is working towards her B.S. and M.S. in Accounting at Denver
University. Her grade point average is 3.53. She is a member of Beta Alpha
Psi and a student member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Darcy is
participating in an internship as an internal auditor at Archstone Smith.
