Committee Responsibilities

Executive Committee
  • Composed of the Chapter officers
  • Acts for and reports to the Chairman of the Board of Governors on matters which require immediate Chapter action between Board meetings
  • Recommends actions and policies to the Board in matters less urgent
  • Its members serve as organizational liaison reporting entities for the chairmen of other Chapter committees as specified by the President and approved by the Board
  • Members of the Executive Committee are held fully accountable for any actions taken on behalf of the Board

Academic Relations/Speakers Bureau
  • Establish working relations with area universities
  • Coordinate activities and chapter support for student chapter
  • Arrange student nights
  • Make presentations to other organizations to acquaint them with the activities and goals of the IIA

Advisory Committee
  • Provides advice to the Executive Committee
  • This committee is approved by the Board of Governors

Audit Committee
  • Performs the annual audit of the Treasurer’s books as specified in Article VIII Section 4 of the Chapter's Bylaws
  • Performs such other duties at its sole discretion and it deems appropriate upon specific request of the Board of Governors, the President, or the Treasurer
  • Acceptance of any such additional duty shall be reported by the chairman of the Committee to the Board of Governors at its next meeting

Chapter Directory
  • Accumulates and publishes information for the year about the chapter

CIA Program
  • Performs administrative functions required for the exam including selecting a site and identifying proctors
  • Organizes the CIA Review Course

Editorial/Newsletter
  • Supplies the IIA headquarters with material for Institute publications
  • Encourages submission of articles for the chapter newsletter
  • Prepares and mails monthly newsletter

Employment
  • Coordinate the referral of member resumes to companies looking for internal auditors

Hospitality
  • Help new members get acquainted and send welcome information
  • Contact prospective members and provide information regarding chapter 
  • Maintain name tags 
  • Notify meeting facility of attendance 
  • At the meeting, work with facility personnel to ensure the facility and refreshments are as requested

International Committee
  • Participate on committees at the IIA International level designed to provide support for the Internal Audit Profession

Member Communications
  •   Chaired by the Vice-President of Member Communications

Member Education
  •   Chaired by the Vice-President of Member Education

Member Services
  •   Chaired by the Vice-President of Member Services

Membership
  • Maintains the member database
  • Mails out monthly E-Newsletter

Nomination Committee
  • Consists of at least three members, the most recent past President one current officer and the remainder from the membership at large
  • The Committee devises a slate of nominees to fill anticipated Board of Governors vaccines and to fill Chapter offices for the succeeding Chapter Year
  • Submits these names to the Board of Governors for approval and publishes its nominees to the membership no later than thirty days prior to the annual election

Programs/Seminars
  • Develops a well-rounded program of speakers on subjects that will appeal to members
  • Coordinates meetings and meets speakers
  • Arranges for meeting facilities

Roundtables - Directors & Staff
  •   Organize and sponsor roundtable discussions and programs

Website
  • Promotes communication with the chapter members and public through the internet
